WorkCover & CTP

WorkCover and CTP psychology — SIRA-registered, in Parramatta and online.

I'm registered with SIRA for both WorkCover and CTP referrals, and I work with insurer and case-managed pathways for psychological injury. Common presentations include workplace stress that has tipped into a claimable injury, post-incident trauma, and psychological injury secondary to physical injury after a motor vehicle accident.

Who this page is for

You may be the right fit if:

You've experienced a workplace incident — physical injury, exposure to trauma, prolonged stress, bullying or harassment — and have a workplace psychological injury claim, either standalone or secondary to a physical injury.
You've been involved in a motor vehicle accident and are experiencing psychological symptoms — PTSD, driving phobia, anxiety, depression — including alongside or secondary to physical injury.
You're returning to work after time off and need structured support to do so sustainably.
How the referral process works

From GP referral through to insurer reporting.

01
Approval and referral
For WorkCover and CTP, your GP or treating doctor refers you, and your insurer or case manager approves treatment hours.
02
Initial assessment
The first session covers what's happened, current symptoms, treatment goals, and the scope of work suited to your claim. We'll determine an initial treatment plan and provide it to your case manager or insurer as required.
03
Treatment
Evidence-based treatment delivered as approved — typically trauma-focused CBT for trauma presentations, CBT for anxiety and depression, and structured return-to-work support where relevant. Reviewed against treatment plan progress.
04
Reporting and reviews
Standard SIRA-aligned reporting at the intervals your insurer requires. I keep these clinical, factual and concise.

Common presentations

Conditions I commonly treat under WorkCover and CTP.

PTSD and trauma — following workplace incidents or motor vehicle accidents, including single-incident trauma, repeated occupational exposure, and trauma secondary to physical injury.
Driving phobia and travel-related anxiety — common after motor vehicle accidents, often the symptom that most directly disrupts return to normal life.
Anxiety and depression secondary to physical injury, chronic pain, or extended time off work.
Workplace psychological injury — bullying, harassment, undue prolonged stress, or trauma in occupational settings.

Fees

Fees, gap and approved hours.

WorkCover and CTP fees are billed at the SIRA-approved rate. Where insurer-approved sessions are in place, there is no out-of-pocket cost for those sessions.
Sessions beyond approved hours, or sessions before approval is in place, are billed privately. We agree this in advance, in writing.
Cancellations follow the same policy as private sessions — see Fees & FAQ.
FAQ

Common questions about WorkCover and CTP.

Do I have to pay anything upfront?

For approved WorkCover and CTP sessions, no. The session fee is billed directly to the insurer at the SIRA-approved rate.

What if my treatment hours aren't approved yet?

We can either wait until approval is in place, or start privately and transition to insurer billing once approval comes through. I'll talk you through both options at first contact.

Can sessions be done via telehealth?

Yes. WorkCover and CTP both allow telehealth sessions, and many clients find this more practical — particularly when physical injury, fatigue, or driving anxiety make travel hard.

Do you write reports for insurers and case managers?

Yes. As the treating psychologist, I provide clinical progress reports and treatment plans aligned with SIRA requirements. These reports are focused on the treatment being provided, clinical progress, functional barriers, and recommendations relevant to ongoing psychological care.

I do not provide medicolegal reports, independent assessments, permanent impairment assessments, court reports, or expert witness opinions.

What if I'm not sure my situation qualifies?

Reach out. I'll tell you honestly whether your presentation fits the kind of work I do, and whether the WorkCover or CTP pathway is likely to apply — and refer you elsewhere if it isn't.
